reveals that there is no such species. Therefore, it is safe to assume that what you're using is another one of those scientific name/common name hybrids used by collectors and dealers to differentiate tarantulas that they can't or won't identify to a formal species. The way it is usually written is in the format
Iridopelma sp. Recife. And, the code is
Probable_genus sp. [Nearest town or place]. "
Probable_genus" is a guess with no guarantees. The "sp." part is an abbreviation for "species" and ordinarily indicates that they don't know what it really is.
Thus, Recife is probably a place, so simply type the word in the address bar of your favorite browser and you'll shortly be presented with nearly 14 million hits, most of them pointing to the city of
Recife
in the state of
Pernambuco
in the country of
Brazil
.
While this may not have been as easy as asking us (and you're always "Cordially or willingly permitted or invited" to do so if you wish), it's nowhere near as much fun or as educational and enlightening as looking it up for yourself.
