Thank you Deon, but you'll be surprised to see her hunt, the leg doesn't effect her at all, I watched her last night and the cricket was history before it hit the ground properly in her enclosure.

The pieces that was stuck was the fangs, and the under side and also the shriveled up abdomen and where the legs connect. Yes it was a huge piece indeed.

Just an update I thought I'd share with you all regarding Mental, as you all know Mental had a bad molt about two months ago, where she lost one leg and the other leg was deformed.

Well she molted again today and I don't know if I should be happy or sad, the molt was a success, but Mental broke off the deformed leg. so now she has two missing legs, and seeing Mental is as tough as nails, which are made of some kind of metal, I hope, I have decided from now on Mental will be called Metal.

Here are a few pics I took of the molt, as I took it out to see what has happened and I have been waiting with great anticipation for the past two weeks now for her to molt as the signs were all there that Metal was in pre-molt.

You will see in the pics of the deformed leg, which I was hoping would be her old skin sticking out. I carefully took a hold of the the point of the leg and pulled the other piece out, and so discovered she has indeed broken the deformed leg off, and I can understand why she did this, as you will all see in the pics.

Hi, that is very sad indeed. I would have thought there would be some regeneration on the other lost leg at least. But while you and I stress about these things, Metal - and other T's just carry on living and if a leg is not good, they simply discard it and carry on with their lives. If only we could be like that .

Maybe it was necessary to get rid of these to ensure a clean molt next time round. :spider:
