So I have recently come across this T and I must say I have fallen in love.
Up until now the Pamphobeteus ultramarinus has been my all-time favourite, unobtainable species but I think this might might just beat it now.
Not much seems to be known of them, they're from Brazil. Discovered in 2009.
Males get to around 25mm and females to around 37mm so definately a dwarf species.
I have attached pics as a sling and then of mature T's. They are very similar to a GBB but then in other pics very different.
Anyway, anybody come across these before? I would love to find one!!!!

Yes I keep 2 of them. Saw 2 for sale earlier in the year too.

There is not much info on them. But I will give a few points from my findings:

1. Yes they are a dwarf specie but I found that they grow quite fast.
2. I keep them semi-arboreal (like you would keep GBB) and they web their enclosure up like a GBB as well.
3. They prefer higher humidity than GBB's. Mine are kept at about 70%-80%
4.The 2 I keep are very skittish but for slings, and dwarf slings at that, that is par for the course.
5. If you don't mind crappy cell pics, I have attached 2pics of them. They have molted again since and the red abdomen has gotten brighter.Will see if I can get a better camera and get them to pose for a photoshoot.

Except for the slings, which have a huge difference, how does this T differ from a Greenbottle blue ?

The Oligoxystre genus belongs to the Ischnocolinae sub-family (which contains Holothele and Heterothele). Chromatopelma falls in the Theraphosinae sub-family.

Other differences include size, and habitat. O.diamantinensis is found in more tropical parts of Brazil, where C. cyaneopubescens occurs in more arid areas.

I think a lot is different between the 2.
Like Zane has said the habitat will be much different as well as the size between the 2 species.
The colour for me is the biggest difference, while they both have similar colouration the GBB has a patterned abdomen where the Oli does not. Also the GBB has much duller colours to match the arid enviroment whereas the Oli has bright, striking colours typical of Aboreal species.

@Zane, I'm glad to hear they are at least being kept locally. Any idea of who you got them from or if there are any more available? Also what sort of price did they cost when you got them?
