I'm no taxonomist and I can't give you any specifics relating to Lasiodora and Brachypelma classification. The below link however gives a watered down explanation of how the classification works.

As for what to collect, I personally try and keep as diverse a collection as possible. I have a little bit of everything except I don't have any blue spiders
Then I have a thing for the Brachypelmas and aim to own one of each species. I only have 7 so far but I'll get there..... some day

Just my two cents: I started of with one sling my son gave me that was about Two years ago and had come to realize there is no limit the only thing holding you back is (order not specific) 1. Money 2. Space and 3. The wife /girlfriend or the mother,

True i do seem to have my favorites but i WANT ALL of them, including the dwarfs (much later though)

My suggestion is as such:

1, If Its money get a better job
2. If its space - buy a bigger house
3. if ts wife /girlfriend or the mother, Divorce , get a new one or move out

:laugh: Well said Anthoney. I have that same feeling, that's why I started this thread. Needed some examples of how you are able to get yourself to collect within certain criteria. Lucky for me, money is not a limiting factor, but the wife is another matter altogether. For that reason I have quite a few slings, because they don't seem so threatening to her.
