Little update...

Seen 2 more entrances to their underground network and much more webbing... also seen 3 out at one go.

Yesterday I saw an exuvium pushed out of one of the entrances and just as a safety precaution I threw in about 10 nymphs. Good to see my babies making progress.

(Next a subfusca communal would have been nice... pity I couldnt grab the opportunity head on)

Had it for about 4 months now, I think I have seen it 3 times. Maybe.
Only way I know it is still there is the webbing keeps on increasing.

Hi UC. Has anything interesting happened to your comunal since the last update.

With the cold front, are you heating your enclosure? I read somewere that Scarab said that SA does not have the claws or the balls to kill balfouri.

This update seeing that you asked for it... the 5 little ones managed to web up the area alot... I also found a total of 3 exuviums... there might be 5 but I did find that they web over it when they push it out of the burrow so I wont be to sure.

I use no heat source specificaly for any of my tarantulas. I do stress a bit when it gets so cold but I do believe that they deal with cold much better than with excessive heat.

I do currently have one of those econo wall heaters with custom made foot pieces for my roaches so the T's might get a degree or two of heat... but that is that... (the door stays open where this is in).

Attached is a photo to see the webbing and bottom left and top right is 2 clear burrows. I also tend to see more and more of them... maybe the shyness is gone and they are becoming social.

Thanks for the update UC. Hope you see all 5 out together soon.

I heat my enclosures. Even with the heating on they drop to 17deg at night.
