Very very late reply... I suppose there is a lot of people attempting the Heteroscodra maculata communals seeing as there was a stall at the SOS2 expo that sold them in communals of 5.
Would be nice if someone on here could give us feedback if they bought one of those.

1: P metallica x10 (all unsexed)
2: P subfusca x5 (all unsexed)
Lost one of the metallica's due to sickness but no aggression witnessed so far, they generally like to hang out close together with exception of one or two loners.
Took a big leap of faith creating the subfusca communal, I got 5 seperated slings from Cerat and they had reached 5-6cm's when I eventually plucked up the courage to introduce them to each other. The first few hours were very nervy as they were all totally jumpy and nervous!
I fed them roaches in the hope that they would settle down and it seemed to work a treat. A week later they are all doing fine. :drunk:
Next project is M balfouri for which I have a 600 litre fishtank ready....

You can take an Aphonopelma to crickets but you can't make it eat!
Just a quick update, 2 and a half months later everything is still well with the P subfusca communal and they're all still getting along perfectly. In fact they are now hanging around together rather than that initial nervous start. :woohoo:

I haven't because it's pretty basic at this stage, I put them into a pretty small enclosure as a start so I could make sure they ran into each other while I was watching incase something went wrong and I could maybe save one. Now that they seem very relaxed with each other, I will move them into their larger, originally intended enclosure and post some pics.
