Hi Guys,

I recently bought a H Lividum which i believe is the dark color form.

Besides the obvious dark/light color, what is the difference between the dark and light color forms of the Lividum?

Oh, and please feel free to slap me  if im being silly :woohoo:

Thanks

I found a new obsession - Tarantulas's :-)

Well there are no color forums with H. lividum. Your spider might be close to molt or it might be a mature male?

How big is your Spider?

Correct me if I'm wrong( If I'm wrong here), but the wetter you keep your spider the bluer it becomes, the dryer you keep your spider the darker it becomes.
I think it goes like that?

@Cascade There does seem to be 2 different "color forms"
eg blue form

Her Carapace is MUCH brighter blue as is she overall where as this MF

has a sort of greyish blue carapace...
I have witness the color differences myself among a few specimens,,, So there could be some debate toward the topic ;)

My two cents here are that we seem to think that tarantulas are mass produced and just pop off a standardized, uniform conveyor belt.

Tarantulas are individuals and just as we cannot expect human beings of the same ethnicity to have the EXACT same color skin, why do we expect this of tarantulas? Just because one lividum is lighter than another DOESN'T HAVE TO MEAN IT IS A DIFFERENT COLOR FORM. I saw this with cambridgei too; Green color form?? Rubbish I tell you!
