I own a Haplopelma lividum that is as docile as a teddy, it just wants to hide when there is some maintenance done, never in its life has it shown any aggression!

If all is not lost, where is it?

The only bite that my forceps got was from my p.fasciata whilst trying to move her. Other than that, my lividum and cambridgei's are quite calm, no uber pissed off chaco's or curlz. Then again I usually don't stick forceps in the t's face!

Interesting.. In GENERAL ... I don't think that anyone can tell what is the most aggressive, defensive or docile Tarantula... Each specimen differ (like dogs... You can get a crazy toy pom or the friendliest pitt bull, lots of species considered as agro or defensive are simply just more nervous then aggressive.. And doesn't take handling as easy as others.. For instance T.blondi.. I don't own one yet so I can't really judge but I think most people are manipulated by the size and mysteriousness ... they are only more sensitive to handeling then other ...

To be honest I can't really pick out my most aggressive T, they've got personalities like woman.. (No offense ;)ladies) but always changing... But my top list at the moment would be my:

Most Aggressive/defensive:

#1 P. Irminia F (maybe cuz she's gravid)
#2 P. Cancerides M and F (F...gravid)
#3 C.huahini F
#4 P.cambridgei F
... My crazy bitchez.. But I love em.. Excuse my language.
#5 P.platyomma M (big,mysterious guy... B carefull...)

skittish and nervous:

#1 L.parahybana
#2 A.sp bolivia M (he's actually ok, mayb just too hungry!:p)
#3 B.vagans M
#4 C.cyaneopobescens F
#5 G.rosea M

Most unpredictable ones ...

#1 B.vagans M
#2 G.rosea M
#3 G.rosea F (a true female;)..)

And the friendliest! ...:)

#1 B.albopilosum (all of my MF's)
#2 B.klaasi M
#3 G.pulchripes M
#4 B.smithi M... (A bit of a drama queen sometimes)
Can't think of a #5 (mayb my G.rosea fem when she's in a good mood..;) )

Sorry for the essay but this is always a fun topic.

Peace... Z
