So im looking after a buddie's costa rican tiger rump, about a month ago he decided to lock him self up in a hole and covered everything, my question is how long will he be there about, must i keep misting the side of the enclosure and is he busy moulting?

he is probably not moulting carry on misting, and did he not leave a tiny hole or is he covered. try to get roaches if you arent already feeding your ts them if you are getting worried you can uncover his hide out a bit do not give a cricket at this stage in case he is gonna molt or has molted, I say roaches because crickets will see your tarantula as food while it is molting because their 'skin' is soft and that is including its fangs!

squish, try using better heading descriptions. I don't think this post has anything to do with a suntiger (Psalmopoeus irminia).

I also had a Cyclosternum fasciatum that were "underground" for months. I misted the enclosure as usual, but curiosity made me uncover him. He hasn't even grown a 1mm, not molted or anything. So I start feeding him up good and made sure he doesn't go underground again. It seems to me a lot of them is doing it, especially when they are young.

Don't go and open up everything if there isn't movement for 2 days or more. Sometimes I don't see some of my t's for weeks. I normally have to stay up very late, leave the light off, take a flashlight and see what they are up to.

Sorry to go off topic but why is the heading suntiger? The T might be moulting but just check on it every now and again. Please also try use scientific names if you dont know them use google. Hope the info helps!

Hey man my G.Aerostriata did the same but she left a little hole where she would come out in night.I thought she was going to molt and I didn't give her and food as I only had crickets at the time.But after a month or so I gave her a cricket and she gobbled it up.Her abdomen was remaining nice and big as always for the hole month and the night I gave her the cricket she also molted but it may just be a coincident.
