Hey all.

My girlfriend bought me this book other the weekend. Its called Filmer's Spiders: An identification guide for Southern Africa. Its a great book for identifying those little ones you find around the house. Its info on Baboon spider's is very limited though.

Its relatively cheap as well. Was R130.

Anyone else have it?

I have the original book as well as the new updated version (Done by Norman Larsen). Great book for general identification. Very easy to use and highly recommended.

Also have the revised edition. The book is really helping me a lot with the spider anatomy terminology.

"Spiders of the Kalahari" is also a nice book released recently by the Agricultural Research Council (Prof. Ansie Dippenaar Schoeman) with a fairly comprehensive list of spiders with great colour photo's and all. I don't know what it costs though - got mine 4 free as it features some of my photo's of which none was taken in the Kalahari....
