Hi Everyone

We had some discussions around the P ornata slings that many of us has acquired from Cerat's brood a few weeks ago.

I thought a dedicated thread to track their molting and behaviors would be nice.

Mine is about 2.5 to 3cm in size. I rehoused it into an empty spice bottle. The ones where you get cinnamon in. I placed about 2cm subtrate and a piece of cork-bark to web around and walk on.
It hasn't eaten in quite a while (roughly 2 weeks) but used to eat 4 cricks easy.
I believe it is in pre-molt and has darkened quite a bit over the last few weeks.

Please post pics of yours (if you can) and some information with regards to eating patterns, etc.

SynergyZA I just got 5 P.ornata slings from Cera as well they are still eating but I can see that they are defnitly going to molt soon. It just look like yours could be a little to full

What signs are you looking for to determine that they will molt soon?

I fed it very small cricks, so 4 really wasn't that much. I also only feed 2-3 times per week.
He hasn't eaten in 2 weeks now.

I got 1 from Cerat, and mine has eaten once since i bought him. 3 weeks ago.. would the weather have a affect on them not eating.. or is it Premolt ?

The weather might have an effect. But I have mine heated and all my other slings are eating.
So I am hoping it is pre-molt

None of my other slings wants to eat aswell.. and i dont have any heaters in my room. Thought ill keep it natrual as they have winter in the wild ! :dry:
