Not that I like commenting on here a lot, but my quick view...
I don't mind having my real name on here (It's in my signature via my email address), the only reason that I would like my nickname on is because its a kind of "brand". As are names such as scarab, the animal, etc. I have used it on all forums that I belong to, and lots of people know me by it. So a mix of the 2 is perfect.
