Too right Bushpilot, bikes are tons of fun, but I have lost 5 friends and have one cousin walking like a texas ranger coz of bikes, all in the last 5 years. I respect riders that respect their bikes, but the okes that carry on like there is no tomorrow, often land up that way... no tomorrow.

EDIT: And... thanks to car drivers that are careless or just plain make a mistake... many bikers are hurt or killed, either way, BP is right, take care out there.

We sold our bike in Germany when we immigrated here as we're well aware of the even higher dangers on the streets of this beautiful country. We've got too much to lose :(

But heck, we're still looking wistfully at any decent bike out there, and maybe one day...

My condolences to you and your family.

I ride, It saddens me every time I hear this sort of news. You have to watch and try and predict everyone's moves around you on our roads. I love biking and we have a beautiful country to do it in but it is dangerous.

Ride safe Guys.

Very sad Bushpilot, very sad indeed... my condolences also.

Bikes are not dangerous though, but people are.

Frooty and I met because of bikes, we toured almost 20 000 k's in 2010, had the best times of our lives doing so. It's part of our lives and always will be. I must admit, when you are on a bike, you quickly realize how retarded some motorists are and that taxis and buses in Southern Africa are mostly driven by brain dead aliens.

Think bike...

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...
