I know we all just love and adore our spiders, but we all have some things that causes a little frustration amidst all the T-keeping pleasures.

For instance, I would plan and make a beautiful enclosure for a specific T, imagining how the spider would just love the burrow or hide I prepared for it, only to have the T follow his own mind and web and dig in the most unexpected place, filling the water bowl with substrate, etc, etc… :pinch:

What is your frustration story?

I have 3.

When they tear the hides and the silicon apart, does not happen that often but it still makes a mess.

My biggest frustration is when my glass cracks on my tanks, that just drives me crazy!!

When I'm busy feeding and cleaning there tanks, and every spider that can flick there hairs, flicks at me,
And then other days not one flick at all.

Struggling to open lids that are stuck when feeding.
Stupid crickets escaping my hand while trying to put into the enclosures. I must admit, I have often thought to myself that the crickets have more "brains" than I do, and they probably do...
Crickets laying eggs in the substrate.
Removing food bolus.
Spiders not dropping egg cases.
Spiders eating egg cases.
Mold.

Spiders that eat, smoke, shred, make furniture from or in any other way stuff up their exuviae so you can't sex them.

I hate it when im waiting anxiously for one of my tarantulas to molt so i can finally
sex it 100% and the the bugger eats its molt.

I dont really have specific frustrations.... I am really trying to think about somethiing but there is nothing that really comes to mind.

In the late 80s when I first kept spiders the main frustration was feeding them since there were no petshops around with a ready supply of crickets etc. This problem also had a serious impact on the number of spiders that I could keep - restricting my collection to not more than five.

Right now I have between 30 and 40 and feeding them all takes me and my son about five minutes... What a pleasure!
