The first Pokies I got was P. ornata ;)

They are awesome spiders, very docile but can turn into a Tasmanian devil if you approach them in the wrong way

They are Very, Very fast  and they don't mind using that speed

They almost never refuse food.

They are cheap.

Very hardy.

Their venom packs quite a punch  :pinch: So be prepared.

They get massive :woohoo: To give you an idea I have 2 sub-adult males sitting at 17cm leg span.

I might be wrong but they might not even mature with the next moult. will keep you updated.

For me they are one of the prettiest pokies.

With all these factors

What more do you want form a spider?

Agree with Creator :) Mine are about 6-7cm now and showing awesome colour! Never refuse food, and have some nice yellow stripes on their legs. If I'm not mistaken they are the biggest pokie?

O I also think that Pokies are much more docile than the psalmopoeus species. After our S. calceatum our P. cambridgeiis the most aggressive T we have, and we have quite a few pokies.

Thanks guys, so now you've put dounbt in my mind about the P irminia. What do you know about Trixopelma ockerti or a Cyclosternum fasciatum?

I rehoused my P cambridgei and P pulcher recently, and my cambridgei is lightning fast. Almost had to do sprints after them. The pulcher on the other hand
was much more relaxed. None of these have ever been aggresive but I know that people can end up with an aggresive G rosea. Their temperaments are not cast in stone.

T ockerti is a more defensive spider and would easily get rid of the hair on that nice red bum. Mine flick when I feed them, or remove a molt or bolus. But I love them none the less.

C fasciatum is also a nice, stunning T to have. As I recall they are not too fast or aggresive.
