The reason that most forums have the 'rank' system is not really to show that you have the ultimate knowledge but is to show who the regulars are and to be like a incentive for ppl to visit the forum and post. Original intent for the system ^^

I agree with the idea on only counting sensible posts. I think maybe I have only posted like 5 real posts and even then my knowledge on T's is not so much, but I rely on reading the forum and asking a few of my friends who have similar interests.
(My wife being an entomologist probably helps too hey?)
So in reading alot of the posts on the forum I would have to say that generally less than a quarter are actually useful. I cannot say that reading all the other stuffs has been a waste of time, most of them are quite interesting.
