I am only a member of this T forum and will continue to be until the site is either shut down or I am the only member left. I suppose I am a die hard fan of the site and the hobby and as long as there is a forum to log into and people to help or discussions to partake in, I will be around.


@ Scarab - I am sure you have mailed Taki too, but I have also mailed him and asked that he either return or provide Admin rights to someone who can administrate the forums in his absence. Whether we receive a response or not is another question though, as you mentioned.

I will see if I can get hold of his number.

Well I must admit, PM or email did not provoke any response...

It is true that members on this forum are members of many other forums also. That is not the point. I merely indicated the ethical misconduct of advertising one forum on another. If you look to the bottom of your screen, you will notice that the newest member is Stefan. I do not get the impression he joined to contribute to this forum, but joined to inform these members of his forum, and that is not good forum etiquette.

Never did I say that nobody must migrate and/or join his, I think I made my point...

As far as new websites and new Tarantula forums go, I heard that there is yet another to be launced soon, so this forum and the one Stefan created will have some serious compitition, that is a fact.

I can attest to Scarab's statement.

But competition is good. To a degree. This could either expand the hobby in SA beyond our wildest dreams, or ruin it.

It is the members that make a forum not the admin or moderators. We can all post threads and reply, there are no major bugs inhibiting the use of the site so really where is the problem? How exactly is it falling apart? Yes our one active mod is limited to what he can do but it doesn't stop us talking about spiders does it?
A new forum will be no better or worse than this one as it will still be the same people talking about the same things. The graphics may be different but without even seeing the site i bet there will be a discussions/questions section, a pictures section, a breeding section, reptiles/other animals section, an off topic section and a classifieds section. Same old same old.
Now don't get me wrong i'm not saying you shouldn't join the new forum, just don't expect the grass to be greener on the other side is all.
