I agree, I was fortunate enough to get a look at this today and the pics simply don't do this setup justice, this is like a theme park for tarantulas...

Once it's been lived in for a decent time this enclosure is going to look spectacular with all the webbing and t's all over the place. I look forward to watching the progress of this M.Balfouri commune.

It looks great, but won't the rocks prove to be somewhat of a hazard; are they securely in place? Wouldn't want any burrowing to cause one of them to shift.

Thanks Seven. Every single rock has been carefully placed so it is supported by another. The rocks support each other, or are supported by wood or glass. There is enough substrate to ensue burrowing takes place and nests can be constructed. We should not loose track of the fact that M balfouri originates from a rather rocky and inhospitable (to humans) island. I have given them ample opportunity to survive in this "scaled down" version, I think....

The substrate is sloped to the back Marula. The front is shallow, about 2cm thick but the back goes up to about 17cm. Most of the substrate is covered by rock. There are enough nooks and crannies for some serious nesting, combined with space for burrowing. These spiders have the ingenious knack to create a home from almost nothing, so this enclosure will undoubtedly suffice.
