If you can get the door off of the enclosure its easy to fix:

Lay it on a piece of foil on a heavy steel baking tray. Heavier is better cos it will stay hot a little longer, but a thinner one will do ok.
Pre-heat your oven to about 300 degrees.

Place the lid in the oven for about 5 to 8 minuets depending on how thick it is. 3mm should be about 5mm.

Keep an eye on it and watch until its laying perfectly flat. Dont leave it in too long.

If after about 10 minutes the corners are still pointing up, use an extra piece of foil over the top and a heavy book or something to flatten the acrylic until it cools. Be careful tho, the acrylic is soft enough to take your fingerprints. Also if you need to put a book or something on it make sure its not too heave or you will squash the perspex out a bit, making it bigger than the tank.

Leave it to cool. Should take about 10 minuets. Oh and try and get a smooth book, because in its soft stage the acrylic will take on texture.

Then take it out

Just my 2c but when looking for nice vents I would say look for it in the bathroom section. (My mom brought it home 1 day) people usually use it in a bath to put over the hole to stop hair-as to not clog the drain. Anyway I we saw them and they would work stunning as vents. You get plastic 1s and stainless steel 1s. That is if you haven't found something already!

Then also, we have been working on our enclosures(glass)... Does any1 know what type of tool do you use to make a big hole? To put a vent in? And also would just drilling small holes into the glass work- instead of vents?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanx

Its a diamond edged hole saw

Its best used with a drill press. You should use prestik or putty or something to make a well around the area youre going to drill and fill that with water so that it keeps the bit cool and you dont get glass dust everywhere

I'll go and have a look at builders for those vents

Here is a pic of the first and only glass enclosure I made a few years back. There I used the vents that Gooty-Laine was talking about. The holes were drilled by the people who supplied the glass. (the hinge didn't work though.. )
