I am attempting to breed the Eupalaestrus campestratus species.

Female: Mine
Male: Oceanblue

First mating: 21 March afternoon - Female tapped, male tapped. No action.
Second mating: 21 March evening (6:40pm) - Female tapped, male tapped. Successful insertion. Male threw female on her back afterwards and ran away.
Third mating: 22 March evening (7pm) - Male tapped, female ignored him.

Subsequent attempts (10 times) - Evening between 6 and 10pm - Male tapped, female ignored him. When he comes close to her, she runs away. No aggression.

I have tried to increase humidity and new substrate, female still not interested.

Both male and female still eating (only 1 roach a week). Female still parading around, no webbing or any behavioral changes.

Anyone with experience breeding these, please feel welcome to provide some tips.

OK, so I followed the advice.
Waited 10 days and she was very receptive tonight.
They were at it for quite a while, and from what I could tell, there were 2 successful insertions.

So thanks for the advice, worked gr8 :D

Female: Mine
Male: Oceanblue

Conditioning Before: one big hisser that took her a day to finish

First mating: successful, went beautifully 3minutes from time of introduction till they parted.
Second mating: unsuccessful. He was eager, took it slow but she jumped and he ran.

Conditioning After: will give her a cooling down period

So... we were on holiday the last week and upon our arrival last night I was greeted with this sight.
(I happened to bump into Scarab an his family in Durban. Pure coincidence :D )

I am extremely excited about this at the moment seeing as it was my first breeding attempt and I have an egg sac to show for it.
Thanks to everyone that gave advice and for documenting your attempts.

After the first post in this thread. I haven't done much aside from moving house. I noticed in Cerat's one post that he made it sound very simple.
"Mate, cool, warm, flood, eggcase."

So all I did was flood her cage and placed her on a heat source (My fish tanks light structure). approx 2 weeks later, there's the egg case.

Anyway.
So here's hoping everything goes well from here.

Thanks everyone.

That is a reflection of the replacement filter for my tank that I use to cover up the hole the female created.
She has a nice artificial burrow and everything, but it was not good enough for her :)
