Hi you shiny happy fabulous gogga keeping people :)

I thought a thread like this might be useful (particularly in passing on valuable experience to newbies)? What do you have experience in breeding? I notice that many of you pros only use scientific names - for the benefit of educating those new to this hobby, please include common names as well.

The only problem with common names is that its very misleading.

They get made, and changed at whim. Just a publicity/advertiser stunt.

Hence the Scientific names. That way you know at least exactly what you're working with.

Where possible I am sure people will try to assist.

I had a link with a table of scientific and common names somewhere. I'll see if I can find it again.

I have successfully bred:
1. G.rosea
2. P.murinus (When they were still "legal")
3. P.campbridgei
4. P.ornata
5. H.lividum (Mom is still with the eggsac)
Waiting for P.formosa to make an eggsac.
Mating A.geniculata and C.cyaneopbescens
Soon to be mated:
1. T.ockerti
2. G.pulchra
3. P.sp. South Ecuador
4. P.nigricolor
5. P.metalica (In about two years :P )
Sorry for those that doesn't know these names, but it's the quickest way to learn them, when you don't have the common names. ;)

Here's the link to the common name thread, but there seems to be nothing in it.
