Not sure if this is the right catagory, it's a breeding experience just not a good one.

I've been trying to breed my N. Chromatus female and my male is so eager he looks like he's going to vibrate right out of the enclosure but my female is just not interested. Every time he goes near her she just turns and walks or runs away. She's been eating and luckily hasn't gotten anoyed enough yet to strike at him but what can I do to try and convince her to want to breed?

On another sad note my B. Vagans female is ready to mate but the male that brought for her last week is soo not capable of mating. I brought him as a "fresh male" but it turns out he's freshly half way into the grave so how do I know if I'm buying a male that I know will be able to do the job for future reference before I waste more money.

These two females of mine are my first breeding attempts and it's so frustrating doing all this research, finally getting to the point where you ready and then this happends.

Please any advice would help.

are u sure the male is that old? I have a G pulchripes thats not far from 2 yrs since maturity and he is currently on his second date!

next time rather try to buy a sub adult male so when he mature you will know when it was and also when he made his spermweb or webs.

Well the first thing I can tell you is that yur female vagans showed interest in one male but not the other, so it could be that she simply doesn't like the male...

And advice that worked for us.. Put some of her webbing in his cae and some of his webbing in her cage... or use a shark cage(ask Scarab about that)

We also have a b. vagans MM, ready to go at the moment..
