Agh man so I should have kept it, would have loved a beauty like that. But so is life we learn from our mistakes. How do you suppose it got there, it was found on farm land so one or to houses in the area but I found it almost 1km from the closest house, I know everyone in that area and believe me no one there keeps T's.

Before you get excited i think there is close relation between the Pterinochilus Murinus (Usambara Baboon) and other local baboon spiders and that is why they are also illegal to keep?

Yes but what I mean is if they do not occur there naturally then it would be better to take it away and not let it mix breed with our baboon spiders. Or maybe this is a new undescribed specie or it could be an OBT but they also occur there naturally so we can expand there home range on the cities map I mean these are possibilities.

There is no way this is its natural home range.
If anything it is an escapee, and we should be very worried.
Just so you know snakekid, it is illegal to keep these without a permit.
The chances are not very good that it would interbreed as there are no other Pterinochilus species down there as far as Im aware.

Jup I know its illegal to keep any type of T in the western cape I'm just throwing out options to see what you guy's think, so I would know better what to do next time something like this happens. If I get a chance ill go back to the same area and have a look around and see if I can find more if I do find a few what does this mean?
