@ Frootbat - she really is an amazing colour! Mine justt molted this weekend, and I will have to rehouse her as her enclosure has mold, so I will see what she looks like.

Given the high humidity requirements, how do you manage the mold situation? I really struggle with this in her tank.

Karin I keep all my hysterocrates sp. relatively dry. The bottom layers of the peat is a bit moist but not even close to being wet

and the top layers are bone dry.

I don't believe you have to recreate a swamp for them. It becomes really hard to maintain.

I keep mine relatively dry and they are doing really great.

One question...

Are the female H.gigas Black? Looks like it in the pic. I thought they were brown?

Its just black because its freshly molted. But in the next couple of weeks it will start to become the
natural dark brown colour they normaly are.
