I havent been in the hobby long and I definately don't have the most impressive collection of T's but I recently realised that the T's do take up a lot more of my time than I originally anticipated.
I'm not complaining seeing as I just sit and watch them whenever there is any activity even when I'm not actively doing anything.
I have a total of 17 T's at the moment and seems time wise that's pretty much all I can handle for the moment, maybe 20

So I got curious. How big is your collection and how much time do you spend on the hobby, say average per day/week?
Any tips from the "old dogs" that you've found saving you lots of time and/or effort?

I have 49 T's... Last time I checked I had 20 or so....don't know what happened! I try to feed them at least once a week, but sometimes I only get to them every second week or so. I'd say it takes me about 90 minutes to feed them all. How long do you take to feed them?

I have about 23 not counting the slings in my communal.
If not taking photos, I spend maybe an hour a week caring for them. Feeding is fairly quick. Take out boluses the next day. Water every now and then. Very little effort compared to fish or children :D

Replied by Curtis on topic Re: Time spent on the hobby
I have about 22+ adult Ts, 10 juvies and about 15 slings (not including what I have bred) - I feed my Ts once a week or twice depending how lazy I am that day and that take at least an hour.
Now if we talking about thoughtful staring and admiration of them per week id say at least 2 hours :P I think its my way of procrastinating

I have 46 T's. Takes me about 90 to 120 minutes to feed them, sometimes longer cause I will end up staring at them as I feed them, and waiting for them to catch the prey item.

Once a week or 2 weeks I will do maintenance where required, that can take anything from 2 min to a whole afternoon (which I don't mind, would rather spend time on my T's than on a lot of other things).

I have noticed that I constantly monitor the enclosures and if I see something that needs attention I end up doing it there and then.

So to be honest from my side, the times differ from week to week, but it doesn't rule my life in any way or isn't a "job". It has just become part of my life just as watching tv, playing ps3, reading etc has become. It manages to just fit in perfectly.

I do however think that I am very close to my limit regarding the amount of T's I have.

Well, strictly feeding I think I would do in about 40 mins or so but then I feed every 2/3 days, worst case maybe a week between feedings. I also vary the size etc of the feedings for example 1 small cricket and then 2 days to the next feeding or 3 large ones if I won't be feeding for a week.

Then seeing as I'm still pretty new I still fiddle a lot in the tanks, changing decorations etc and spend a lot of time watching them feeding, trying to pick up on behavioural patterns etc. Caught my N.chromatus drinking water the other night

All in all I think I spend about an average of an hour a day on the T's
