Further to my comments above, I insert below scanned copies of parts of three pages (pgs. 270 - 272) from Rainer Foelix' book Biology of Spiders. This will either clear up some of your confusion, or produce a terminal melt-down in your brain cells!

BTW, though expensive, every serious tarantula enthusiast should have a copy of this book. Until yours arrives, try to find copies to read at university libraries.
