I have lost 3 T's in the past 4 weeks, all due to circumstances unknown. This is partly why I have been so quiet on the forums.

I know that keeping any animals means there will be losses along the way, but I almost gave up entirely and sold my whole collection. The remaining T's in my collection finally managed to persuade me that I should hold onto them and keep collecting/keeping.

They all get water from the same source, all food items are from the same source too. All are kept in the same environment within a few centimeters of each other. My other T's are all perfectly healthy with all of them having moulted in the last week or so except my MM G. rosea.

Here are my losses:

1 x H. maculata sub-adult - It was fine the one day and in a death curl the next. This was my biggest H. mac and such a gorgeous specimen. An epic loss in my books, this one was the first to go and hurt the most.

2 x P. ornata slings - Cerat's brood. Nothing wrong with the 3rd sling so I am stumped as to what happened here.

As a matter of interest, where do you buy your crickets? My good friends at PetStop lost, I think 8 spiders last week. They are pedantic about their spiders and goes to great length to keep them healthy, yet all died for no reason. If you bought from them, it might be that their supplier has a problem with his crickets.

If you don't feed crickets, then ignore the above.

Drop me a mail on ruanlambrechts@gmail.com and ill organise 3 x fasciata slings for you free of charge. Know the ornata's were bought ages ago, but have a few spare fasciata's lying around.

I have gone through the same this thing this week, but not T's. Two Horses, one died yesterday and there was nothing that could be done. Doesn't really matter what they are, we still love them all the same.
You have my deepest sympathy.

@Scarab, will you please keep me updated on what the problem might be at Petstop. I buy my crickets there once a month, the rest of the time I catch my T's food. Takes some time, so I spoil myself by buying once a month (then I have time on my hands to do my nails :laugh: ). But, I have to buy this coming weekend.

Where & when did you buy the H mac? there was alot of wild cought ones brought into the country a couple months ago! along with avic avica & blondi's! and all of them are pegging left right & centre!
