The Brazilian Wandering Spider is actually the generic name for eight species of spiders that belong to the genus Phoneutria – Greek for "murderess". It scurries all over the place at night actively searching for prey. It does not wait in ambush or spin a web like other spiders. The notion that damp forests may contain giant webs accumulated over years is a fallacy.

Ugly mofos

There is a video on Youtube where a guy pesters one with a shoe. It eventually ends up biting the shoes and gets flung around. Doesn't let go. Venomous, agro, brave and ugly. Sounds like a comic book bad guy.

They kinda look very similar to the rain spider, they every where in South America.... Discovery channel and animal plant have a few good documentaries on the wondering spider... Very dangerous spider if bitten

yea you right if im not mistaken south africa knows them as the bananna spider found mostly in KZN

Their bite also has a nasty side effect if you are a male victim of one of their bites!
