Goliath Birdeaters are the largest spider in the world with legspans of 30cm. and weights of 145 or 170 grams possible. This Guyanan race of Goliath has recently been described as a third species of Theraphosa Theraphosa stirmi.

Xenesthis immanis is a large theraphosid spider with a body length of 6 to 7 cm. They have a red/purple star on the carapace, best seen on adult males.

Similar looking to the Xenesthis immanis and of about the same size,the Amazon Blue Bloom ranges in smaller area's than the X. immanis.

These darkly coulored Columbian Tarantulas(no specific locality other than "New Grenada" is given) are unknown in the pet trade.
