I know we are already half way thru winter but I came across a friend last nite that just doesnt understand when u say "DONT place the heating pad underneath enclosure", so it seems that some ppl need pictures to understand how to heat enclosures for Ts. Lets start a thread we can refer some ppl to on ideas. Also it might just benifit us all with more ideas on how to do it next winter.

I have a wall mounted panel heater, and stack all my T's close to it.
I only have a thermometer in one enclosure, as the others will be roughly the same temp. - My collection is not that large yet (26), so this method works for me at this stage.
The panel heater keeps the temps at a constant 25 - 28 degrees, depending on how colse they are to the heater.
Most of my T's will sit on the glass baking in the heat (very cute!), but they can also move to the other side of the enclosure when they get too hot.

If I heat, I prefer to heat the ambient temperature surrounding the enclosures. If I really can't make due that way, I will install a heating cable/mat to the vertical surface of the wall behind my shelve where I keep my tarantulas.

I have a panel heater in my spider room... I keep them rather close to it. I get a steady temperature of around 21 degrees Celsius which not to bad considering the cold weather we have been having.

If you mostly have slings and having a issue with keeping them warm put all their enclosures in a bigger fish tank and put a heating mat on the inside(on the side of the fish tank). Then put the top on. PUT THEM ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE HEATING MAT... IN OTHER WORDS NOT TO CLOSE TO THE HEATING MAT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED Also a thermometer is a good idea so you can keep an eye on how warm it is inside the tank. Spray your T enclosures every 2 or 3 days.

as spoq just explained,I also keep all my ts in the same manner, I have heating pads in the inside of the tank with all the ts packed inside.

I put polistyrene on my racks, as well as on the sides. I run one heating cable on the vertical sides, about 25mm from the bottom. I can now stack all my sling tanks (150x100x50 wide) with the short side against the cable. This raises the ambient temp by about 3 degrees, which seems to be ample. I still have a large differential between day and night temp. With this extreme cold, I just run a temporary cable all over and between the tanks for some extra heat. If you cannot get heating cable, just use a heating mat and remove the alu foil. If your slings are getting sluggish, they are way too cold. Always keep in mind, that most of our T's are tropical.
