considering this is a t forum, and there are no scorp forums, i thought i'd post this here:

i have a asian forest scorpion (Heterometrus longimanus) and i'm rather new to this. how often and how much should i feed it? it's about 1.5-2cm in length at the moment

Once a week with a cricket. As it grows bigger, you can increase the amount of crickets of move to larger prey items.

Make sure there is ALWAYS a water dish available. Shallow enough for the scorpion to walk in and not drown. Scorpions can often be seen drinking. Ts are much more forgiving with water dishes, but its a must with scorpions, I can not stress this enough.

Provide it with 6cm tick layer of substrate (I use coco peat mixed with vermiculite. I cup per ~3liters of coco peat). Lightly mist once every 2 weeks. Be careful not to use large heavy rocks as they tend to excavate under EVERYTHING! It may just end up crushing scorpion. I use exotera hides. It provides an excellent starting hide and they will start to burrow from inside it.

These are by no means rules set in stone, just my personal experience.

I would suggest you get another one. They are communal and watching them interact is fascinating!

I think It is best to alternate with feeding about Cricket, Blaptica dubia or Yellow mealworm. This feeding nutrient-rich and the Scorpion is the omnivore.

I have 1 Pandinus imperator, 1 Leiurus quinquestriatus, and 1 Uroplectes olivaceus.
