I'm to brown for a Brachypelma vagans.
I was sold as a Brachypelma vagans, but now that I'm a mature lady things look different.

Just a geuss Brachypelma epicureanum ??

Not my speciality but I would say Aphonopelma pallidum which was called Brachypelma pallidum.Why I say so ?If you look at the head, half is dark the other half is light brown and the legs (coxa)sections is light, where with the vagan all is dark and only the legs or (coxa)sections is light where with the angustum the head is light and the legs (coxa) sections is dark.Lets hope Im right

So far the closest match I could find is Brachypelma sabulosum. The brown colour but also the salmon pink setae.

So my girl moulted today.
Looks like someone was just in a bad need for a moult.


Any guesses on what she is now?
This includes myself for doubting her.

A Brachypelma species from the red rump group is as accurate an ID as you will ever get. Unfortunately most hobby vagans carry a little of something else in them which is why i just don't bother with the red rump group outside of verdezi, albiceps and schroederi.

What about looking at the spermatheca Duke?

Crossbreeding maybe?
