Just want to find out which is the correct way to measure your tarantula and how do you guys measure them? I measure leg span but across the body. Like in the second photo.

I go with the second picture, but overseas many go by body length, which would be measured according to the third picture.

Life is not measured by how many breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

I would have thought that the body measurement is more accurate than to include the legs. what is considered a normal standing position for a spider? this is probably a noob question, but how do you measure accurately?

Legspan is probably more accurate that body length, as the latter depends quite a bit on the condition of the T' in question.

When measuring the legspan, the T' should sit in an outstretched but relaxed position, not artificially flattened out.

Suzi,

I go with the second pic.

That appears to be the most widely accepted means of measurement.
